Motorcycle Driving License in Cyprus

There are different categories for a motorcycle driving license.

Motorcycle License Categories
Category A1
Minimum Age: 17.5 years old
Maximum Power: 11 KW
Maximum Cylinder Capacity: 125 cc

Category A2
Minimum Age: 20 years old & a category A1 license for at least 2 years
Maximum Power: 35 KW
Maximum Cylinder Capacity: 400 cc

Category A
Minimum Age: 24 years old & a full category A1 license & 7 hours of training
Maximum Power: No Limit

There are three different categories of motorcycle licenses: Category A1, which allows you to ride motorcycles with a cylinder capacity of up to 125cc and a power output of up to 11kW, Category A2 which allows you to ride motorcycles with a cylinder capacity of up to 400cc and a power output of up to 35kW and Category A, which allows you to ride motorcycles of any power output.
Wearing appropriate motorcycle gear is crucial for the safety of riders. This gear typically consists of a helmet (or full-face helmet), a jacket, pants, gloves, and boots.
Yes, some motorcycle categories require a certain number of hours of practical training with a certified driving instructor. Category A, for example, requires 7 hours of practical training.
